Working Hostel

We have already accommodated 15 members in our ongoing Working hostel project and can extend upto 25-30 members, comprising partially and fully blind individuals. Additionally, numerous families are eager to participate in self-sustainability projects, and we aspire to expand these initiatives across the area. Our goal is to enable individuals to earn between Rs 300 to Rs 500 per day. To achieve this, we seek immediate support from esteemed organizations like yours, through donations of small industrial machinery and raw materials for initial setup. This support will not only facilitate market opportunities but also empower more families and children to access better education.

In December 2022, we initiated a Working Hostel for Visually Impaired People at our center, providing affordable food and accommodation to underprivileged visually challenged men who migrate to Mumbai in search of employment. Furthermore, we support the education of visually impaired children by providing stationery kits and paying school fees when funds allow. We also distribute raw grocery kits to underprivileged families as needed and conduct medical camps annually on Louis Braille’s birthday in January.

Looking ahead, we aim to establish permanent projects that generate repeat orders from manufacturing companies, specifically designed for visually impaired individuals. This endeavor will pave the way for a brighter future for over 200 visually impaired families in our vicinity. We are keen to establish a Job Training Centre for these special individuals and encourage others to join us in supporting sustainable projects.

We have identified several upcoming projects that require funding:

1. Computer learning Centre for Visually Impaired Students to facilitate employment opportunities in the banking and private sectors.

2. Mosquito Repellent Herbal Agarbatti Making.

3. Spices packaging Machine.

4. Paper Pen/Pencil making business.

5. Paper Plates/Drone cup making projects.
